Sex Therapy

Sex therapy is not only for the treatment of sexual addiction. Sexual therapy can be used to work through a diverse set of sexual dysfunctions. These dysfunctions include:

  • Premature ejaculation
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Low/high libido
  • Unwanted sexual fetishes/desires
  • Body image relating to sex

Sexual therapy is also an essential part for the recovery from a sexual assault or trauma. Sexual therapy can help you to relearn what it means to be intimate and to feel safe and secure within your body. Learning to share your body with another person in a safe way is also important. There are a variety of approaches that we can use to help work through your sexual problems, working in a way that best suits your needs and goals.

Sexual therapy is about becoming comfortable exploring intimacy and being comfortable in your own skin. Working towards a positive and healthy body image will in turn lead to a positive and healthy sex life.

Sex Addiction

Sex becomes a sexual addiction when your sexual thoughts, feelings and behaviours become something that is out of your control. There have been many terms used to describe sexual addiction but the outcome is the same. Sexual addiction can have serious consequences to not only your mental health, but your physical health as well. Sexual addiction takes a serious toll on your views of relationships and what it means to have a healthy relationship with another person. It becomes disruptive to your everyday life, as well as relationships both romantic and otherwise. Sexual addiction can come with feelings of shame, guilt, and disappointment. Do not let these be a barrier to you seeking help. Together we can develop a strategy to help you break free of your addiction, as well as help you learn new and healthy ways to express yourself sexually. Recovery is a lifelong process with every addiction, but it is possible. Look towards the future, and see a happier and healthier you.
