Anxiety

Anxiety is something that everyone experiences. It can be from meeting new people, having to do a presentation at work, or any other of a variety of normally stressful situations. There is a difference between this anxiety and problematic anxiety. Having anxiety that is unrealistic, unwarranted, and disruptive to your life is problematic. Anxiety that interferes with your normal daily functioning and relationships is problematic as well.

Anxiety disorders are based around having an unrealistic fear, worry, and uneasiness about a situation, or a variety of situations. Anxiety may also present in a physical way such as restlessness, fatigue, pacing, and sweating. It can also lead to problems with concentration on tasks and situations at hand. Anxiety in this form may be associated with an object or person, however, it is what you are feelings and why you are feeling this way that is the main focus. There is no one cause of anxiety. A negative or traumatizing experience with the situation is often times at the root of the anxiety, but it is different in every person.
