					<description><![CDATA[Unfortunately, so many adults abuse substances that it is hard to open dialogue with their children about these issues. Even abuse of prescription narcotics or even cigarettes can be a barrier to communication. I encourage parents of teens who abuse drugs/alcohol to take a hard look at their own behavior, too. Kids mimic what is modeled to them. &quot;Do as I say, not as I do&quot; doesn&#039;t work. We as adults must lead by example.
