Fears & Phobias

Fears are a normal part of life. From spiders to public speaking, we all have something that we are afraid of. There is a big difference between having a healthy fear and a phobia. It is completely normal for us to feel a certain amount of fear in dangerous and/or life-threatening situations. This fear can often times save us from making dangerous mistakes.

But when fears become intense and interfere with your everyday functioning, they are considered phobias. These phobias pose little or no actual danger, but cause a great amount of anxiety. This anxiety can come even when you are just thinking about your phobia or being triggered by something that reminds you of your phobia. When you are exposed to the situation/object that you fear, the reaction is automatic, intense and overwhelming.

Phobias are something that can be overcome. It will take a lot of hard work and dedication, but it is possible. There are a variety of therapies that can help you overcome your phobia. Together we can develop a plan that is tailored to your specific phobia and needs. We can work with your phobia in a safe and secure environment, pushing your boundaries in a comfortable and timely manner. You can conquer your fear and move on to being a more confident and fearless you.
